So....ya wanna write an audio drama\? Or...some scripted fiction...audio fiction....a...radio drama? Awesome. I do hope you're ready for a fun ride. Now I have had the privilege of talking to folks about making audio drama for the past 2/3 years or so. And...the people doing it...they know their stuff. There are plenty of resources to give you inspiration....check out the writings of the lovely Craig Robotham...he won a place in the final 5 of the newest #MADCAP2019 season Quirky Voices is producing this year....have a ,look at his blog posts here...and my goodness...do not be 'put off' by any reference to OTR...his thoughts and experience and views on writing are awesome. Take a look! https://www.weirdworldstudios.com/audio-drama-education/
And If thats not enough have you checked out the amazing resource that is the Writers Room on the BBC? I mean...theyve been churning it out forever but...y'know...we love them..and...I kinda feel sad they have the restrictions that we dont...but then...I guess....writing should be all about freedom of expression and not limiting yourself to time constraints (10-15mins) briefs (any genre any era) and expectations (nothing less than awesome please!) So. Here's link to the BBC awesome. Check out layouts, check out radio drama scripts of yore....I mean...you can check out the tv stuff too but...obvs radio is best...right? Anyways, browse across the site as you like but..I'm gonna start you here...cos...I LOVED HOMEFRONT AND YOU ALL SHOULD LISTEN IF YA WANNA....https://www.bbc.co.uk/academy/en/articles/art20161025164006614 sO. WHERE NEXT. Cos...it's highly obvious I have a scattergun brain right? I mean...take today....I got two more audio roles, sent off a few auditions, recorded two scripts, wrote many and celebrated 4000 downloads of MADIVA and I do not care if folks scoff at that number....for me...THAT IS AMAAZZZINGGGGG...So henceforth....today shall be known as JULY154000. Anyways, I digress. Writing stimuli. Uhm. Here's some pictures. Cos. We need diverse and amazing scripts so heres..some diverse and amazing stimuli. https://www.literacyshed.com/the-images-shed.html https://www.pinterest.co.uk/infeducation/writing-stimulus/ I mean...I'm sure you don't need them but then...we all need that kinda....distraction away from the task we're meant to be doing...right? So. Uhm. Go look at the pictures if ya wanna. WARNING....HERES SIME HORROR STUFF https://www.everywritersresource.com/10-horrifying-horror-story-prompts/ https://www.pinterest.com/pin/64105994665738376/ https://www.writersdigest.com/writing-articles/by-writing-genre/horror-by-writing-genre/scare-tactics-7-tricks-for-writing-terrifying-horror-fiction-monster-stories ANNDDDD SOME SCI FI STIMULI https://nerdyshow.com/orphans/ https://battlebird.libsyn.com https://www.girlinspacepodcast.com https://archive.org/details/hhgttgall6/01-01.mp3 AND well...comedy....uh, THATS A TOUGH ONE.
